Frequently asked questions
How are numbers sorted?
Lines are compared using natural-language rules, so most number lists sort sensibly, but strict numeric sorting is not guaranteed for mixed content.
Does it remove duplicates too?
No — sorting only reorders lines. To also remove repeats, run the list through the Remove Duplicate Lines tool first.
Are blank lines kept?
Blank lines are treated as entries and sorted along with the rest, so remove them beforehand if you do not want them in the result.
